Lalique crystal lettuce: an innovative new lettuce type. Bred by Rijk Zwaan, this crystal lettuce is like an open iceberg, with frilled, crunchy, and juicy leaves.
Lalique RZ is green lettuce for year-round hydroponic production. It is very crispy and juicy and will hardly become bitter in any condition. It is very well suited for burgers and sandwiches.
With a sweet crunchy bite, Crystal lettuces have a high leaf count of robust leaves, with a light blister and a frilled margin. In internal studies, Crystal lettuce has consistently performed well in taste tests and processability.
 
FOOD SERVICE APPLICATIONS:

These decorative leaves are ideal for single loose-leaf food service applications such as sandwiches and burgers, making them the perfect iceberg replacement. Crystal leaves perform well in combination with both acidic and hot ingredients, retaining their texture and crunch. This means that they are also suitable for the Asian hotpot market.
